I got turned onto computers in 1992. I started working at a manufacturing plant that made, guess what? Computer boards. Through the last fifteen years or so I have worked in various phases of the process. I have worked with others to make, medical cards for mri and cat scan machines, wireless interfaces, server boards. Really big server cards, like the ones used by Yahoo and Google. For a while we made the cards that went into ATM’s, Wall Street, big data transfers like the Social Security Dept.
In 1994 I bought my first computer, a Packard Bell, I’ve been hooked ever since. I joined AOL in 1994 and stayed with them for quite a while.. I got to admit, of all the plans I’ve used, AOL has the best chat rooms anywhere. More fun than a circus and almost as insane.
I’ve been online now for fourteen years and I got to admit, it’s freakin’ great. In 2007 I discovered
blogs and that I could buy my own website for pennies. HOO—BOY!!! Hooked again!
My only regret in the last few years is that I’ve lost most of my hearing. I used to love listening to music while I worked online, in the car, at home, almost anywhere. Recently they have decided to allow people at work to use MP3 players, as long as they only use one earphone. Where the hell were they when I could hear. Damn, damn, and double damn. In a country that seems “SO” dedicated to helping the handicapped, hearing is at the bottom of the food chain. Not important to some, not enough of a disability to others. Poo!!! It sucks like Grandma’s Electrolux. Big time..
